Piero Bonacina - PERMANENT EXHIBITION
• The exhibition
A new way of conceiving space, a different way to enjoy art: some installations by the sculptor Piero Bonacina enrich the park and the interiors of the Grand Hotel Impero on Monte Amiata in Tuscany in an unprecedented way.
• The works
These are sculptures in stone, wood, concrete, iron, most often mixed together to create real "tangles" of materials. The raw materials are valuable - like the sandstone of Manciano and the travertine of Saturnia - or poor, like the barrel circles revisited to form allegorical creatures, supports or figures covered by ivy.
• The artist
Originally from the province of Lecco, Piero Bonacina has a self-taught training to which the numerous trips to the East and India, his spiritual homeland, have contributed decisively. Following the traces of the Tibetan master Namkhai Norbu he discovered Monte Amiata, which since 1990 has become his favorite place.
• Where to find it
IThe master Piero Bonacina resides in Montegiovi, where he gave life to the museum-garden "Art apart", entirely open to visitors and from which you can enjoy the panoramic view of the village of Castel del Piano. Among plants, flowers and works in iron, wood and sandstone meet enigmatic cats and the same sculptor, Piero, who will be happy to introduce you to his creative world if you will contact him at the number 338-5265907.
